Summary: Jongdae has a strange obsession with Rilakkuma and Joonmyun has to deal with it.

Notes: Jongdae and Joonmyun have the same age for the sake of the AU!, also incredible timing for exo to love all the Rilakkuma. I just hope that this is what you expected.

Joonmyun moved when he was seven to a new neighborhood, his mom and dad telling him that they needed a new environment. The house was big, maybe a little bit smaller than the past one but still big enough, he could still keep all his video games in his new room. He remembers that the by the second day a lady came and knock at the door, greeting his mom and at the same time introducing her son to them, “Jongdae” she said; he can’t really recall but he is almost sure that at that exact moment his life changed forever. “Jongdae” now he does clearly remembers Jongdae. He used to go to his house all the time, to play video games, to eat PJ sandwiches, to play with goldy (Joonmyun’s dog), to show Joonmyun the giant scratch he managed to get in his left knee the day before or how many bones he broke when he felt from his bike, or skate, or just to do homework; Jongdae just slowly became part of his daily life. Jongdae was there for a lot of Joonmyun’s first, like the first time he went to new school or the first time he escape home to go to the movies and see “Mean Girls” when he was 14; when he got drunk for the first time and Jongdae also was there when he was 15 and a boy kiss Joonmyun for the first time and he had an epiphany because “I might like boys too, not only girls, Jongdae” his best friend would only hug him and always move on. In all honesty Joonmyun was also a lot of Jongdae’s firsts; first best friend, first neighbor, and first person to defend him from the bullies. Here is the deal Jongdae seems to have an obsession with Rilakkuma, he has tons of plushies in his bedroom and has all the pictures book and video games of the mascot, Joonmyun is pretty sure he could send his best friend to “My Strange Obsession”. He also doesn’t get where the obsession came from considering that Jongdae is far away from being in any stay of relaxation ever and he is also not a bear (He looks more like a kitty this days), and yes, he owns a few of Rilakkuma’s plushies himself but nothing huge. Even if Jongdae has a strange obsession, no one should push him around the hallway in middle school because of it. Joonmyun recaps coming out of his class room just to see a few boys holding Jongdae up against one of the lockers while the others had his backpack and were making fun because of the Rilakkuma badges that the bag had on. Joonmyun immediately went there and call them out; telling them that he would call whoever was competent to expelled them if it was necessary. Jongdae clanged to him during a whole week before walking the hallway alone again. He thought about telling Jongdae to stop putting badges on his bag, but that was the way he was and he wasn’t going to stop him. So Joonmyun stood up for him every time, glancing to anyone who even dare to look at Jongdae the wrong way, it was funny, Jongdae was a few inches taller than him and probably would look scarier than Joonmyun if he wanted to. Joonmyun doesn’t know how he got here, he is inside what it is probably the biggest plushie store and all because Jongdae’s birthday is next week. He has been thinking for weeks what to get him; a book sheet so he can write music? Jongdae is never going to throw away the one that he has right now. He thought about giving him a “friendship coupon” but that would be kind of cheap in Joonmyun mind. So he decided to go for another Rilakkuma, one more is not going to cause any damage, Jongdae’s already too deep in his obsession. He tried to question him once, the first time that Jongdae got bullied at school, why? But Jongdae answered that “I just happen to like it, can we stop? I really wanna go home”. Jongdae has changed a lot since middle school, when they started High School whenever someone said something towards him about his badges or any other thing, Jongdae would just turn around and just confront them right away, Joonmyun is pretty sure some of them have nightmares about Jongdae. At the end he ends up buying Jongdae the latest Rilakkuma that the store got. Joonmyun would think that it is stupid if Jongdae ever tells him why he likes Rilakkuma so much. He asked once, but Jongdae was too afraid that Joonmyun should just think it was lame; he can handle everyone else thinking that he has a weird obsession with the toy but not Joonmyun. It is not even a weird thing, he just feels safe with the Rilakkuma. He was 9 when he got his first plushie and it was obviously a gift from Joonmyun. He broke his arms while trying to learn how to ride a skate (it is a bad idea, never do it) and when he went to Joonmyun house with a cast in his right arm and slightly depress because “How am I going to play video games?” Joonmyun gave him a tiny Rilakkuma to take care of him (it was dress as a doctor) and Jongdae still holds it really tight when he is sick. Jongdae is having a party and he is going to have so much fun, nothing can ruin his birthday this year, he invites a bunch of people from school to his house even though he knows he is just going to hang out with the same three, Joonmyun, Chanyeol and Baekhyun. He indeed has a good time, somehow he manage to get his parents out of the house. Around 1 a.m almost everyone is gone, but less the merrier, they started playing “truth or dare” and so far Jongdae has seen and find out about things he never wanted to. Like knowing Baekhyun’s weirdest kinks and how Cindy (one of his classmate) has at least make out with half of Jongdae’s friends including Chanyeol, nevertheless everything is going quite well for him in the game, he has no shirt on, because he was dared to take it off, but nothing else. It is Baekhyun’s turn and Jongdae prays hard for it nor to land on him, obviously he doesn’t go to church enough because the bottle they are playing with stops just in front of him (he has already use his dare) “What’s up with Rilakkuma, we all love you and understand but really… is that like some fetish or something?” dear God of course Baekhyun would ask that “Dude...I just like it, no reason at all. Not all of us have weird fetish” he is a good liar that’s what he tells himself, but Joonmyun is watching him on the side like he knows better. It is around 3 a.m when it is only Joonmyun and him cleaning up the mess, it is 3:15 when Joonmyun speaks up “I’ve known you for more than half of my life, you were definitely lying. It has to be a reason…”. “I just like it really…” he tries to lie again, but Joonmyun is looking him with that face, the one that he makes when they take Goldy to the vet or when he gets less that 80 in a test and complains to Jongdae “ok…” he sits in the couch, it is really a lame reason, he doesn’t even know why he hides it “remember when we were 9 and I broke my arm?” Joonmyun just nods “well...that kind of has a lot to do with it...actually it is all your fault!” and Joonmyun now has the face he puts when he doesn’t understand why he got less than 80 “What I am saying is that I was sad and you give a Rilakkuma dress as a doctor to take care of me, and know whenever I see one I think of you. CEO Rilakkuma, I think of how you would probably be one in the future; Singer Rilakkuma, I think of how we sometimes go to the Karaoke and how you have a nice voice; Pink Rilakkuma, I think of how many ridiculous ugly sweaters you have of that color, it is your entire fault”. Jongdae hasn’t really talked to Joonmyun since the day, he well, kind of confess. Just like in the movies when basically telling Joonmyun he imagined a future with him and how he basically had an obsession with him, in some weird way; Joonmyun phone rang, his mom ranting about if : “even their house were almost next to each other it was still too late to be outside and that he had 5 minutes and counting to be in bed”, so Joonmyun left, not before saying “Can we talk about this later?" with that smile that Jongdae wished his plushies had. It is not like he is avoiding him, he just has a lot of homework to do and ok, maybe he was a little bit embarrassed about the situation. He is in the lab at school, and the teacher s talking about weird biology things he couldn’t care less about, what he does cares about is that Joonmyun is not there, their only class together and second his phone is constantly vibrating in his left pocket, he can’t do anything about Joonmyun missing classes, but at least he can check his phone. You should look outside tho From: Satan Say thank you later ;) Maybe Jongdae is day dreaming or Baekhyun out something in his breakfast, but he is pretty sure that when he sees outside of the window there is a giant Rilakkuma just standing there in the middle of the lacrosse pitch and Jesus lord, is that Joonmyun? He almost knocks his teacher on his way to ask if he can go to the bathroom rushing a “It is kind of urgent”. When he gets to the pitch he is sure he is not day dreaming, Joonmyun is literally standing there wearing a mascot suit of a Rilakkuma and Jongdae kind of wants to laugh but also kiss Joonmyun adorable face “mmm...what is this? are you making fun of me?”. “They didn’t have a suit of a doctor Rilakkuma” Joonmyun says as if that explain a lot to Jongdae “Oh god, here is the deal…. I kind of wanted to dress as a doctor Rilakkuma to tell you that I want to take care of you from now on and maybe sing to you and wear stupid pink sweaters together and everything that you have Rilakkuma for and maybe more…” Joonmyun hesitates to a move as if he remembers something “I had this planned but you came down here…. I am still going to show it to you” with that Joonmyun brings out a sign with “Do you wanna be my boyfriend?” with a lot of stars and cute things draw around it. Jongdae doesn’t really have the time to answer because he is already kissing Joonmyun before he can realize it and he can’t believe that this is how he got an extremely cute and embarrassing boyfriend. He hears a whistle from the classrooms and he is pretty sure one of those it is Baekhyun, he also hears laughs and someone saying “freaks”. He doesn’t really care, he is definitely not going to throw away any of the toys, but at least he now feels more than safe and happy in Joonmyun arms. 1. Rilakkuma apparently is a combination of the word “relax” and the word “bear” in Japanese or somewhere along there. 2. I know “Mean Girls” came out ten years ago, but I can’t help to imagine Jongdae dragging Joonmyun to watch it because he would love it… 3. There is a truth or dare game were you are only allow to have dare once and rest truths or the other way around 4. Baekhyun is always Satan
